Taking Care of the Earth Every Day

You can do lots of good things for the earth. Here are ideas to keep in mind.
  • Keep Your Neighborhood Clean
If you see trash on the ground, toss it in a trash can.
  • Recycle Cans, Bottles, and Paper
Save them at home and at school, and help your family recycle them.
  • Help Keep the Air Clean
Ride your bike or walk to school. Too many cars cause a lot of pollution.
  • Save Paper
Use both sides of your paper at school and at home.
To clean up messes, use sponges or washable cloths instead of paper towels.
  • Help Save Water
Don't leave the water running while you brush your teeth.
  • Help Save Energy
Turn off the lights when you leave the room.
Turn off the TV when you're finished watching it.
Don't leave the refrigerator door open. Get what you want quickly.

And Remember . . .

Don't ever think you're not important to our earth. You are!

EARTH HOUR

You guys know how much I am for sustainable living and against global warming.Earth Hour as you know, has been a global celebration that started in Australia.

It was started to make the world realize that there is still people pledging for sustainable world, and to fight global warming. It was never meant to stop global warming, but to create awareness, so that our children and our children children may yet see the world as beautiful as it is now.

Since the start of Earth Hour, more and more countries has joined, Malaysia too has been in the vibe. We, as a developing country are one of the major country that contribute to global warming, but measures has been taken, public has been educated, but we can do more, to show how committed we are.

So during Earth Hour is held, close your light for an hour. Promote this awareness, educate your family and friends. Until we find another planet to live on, let preserve this one with our best effort.

Reduce, Reuse & Recycle

REDUCE
Purchase the smallest amount possible of a toxic product, or share it with a friend or neighbor to decrease the need      to throw away the remainder.

Use both side of paper when ever possible.

Use cloth napkins instead of paper napkins.

Use email instead of letter, so it can reduce the usage of paper.

REUSE
Donate unwanted clothing, household items and building materials to a reuse center in your community.

Shop at these stores when possible to avoid purchasing new clothing, products and materials.

Reuse containers with lids for storing leftovers or for dry goods instead of purchasing new storage containers.

Use grocery sacks to line garbage cans to reduce the need for trash bags.

Save Our Planet

BY : AMIR AIZAT BIN MOHD, SAHAK
           A1

O people, please open your eyes and see what we had done to our dearly mother earth :

What we do every day has brought our beloved earth closer to destruction .Day by day, moment by moment our earth moaning in pain, but what a pity no one that step on this sad earth could understand what the earth had experienced.
Each day uncounted variety of destruction has been done by human activities, for example  :
  •   Use of human mobility transport
  •   Dwelling for settlement in city or villages
  •   Energy for various direct human needs and industrial needs
  •   Agriculture for food production and industrial needs
It is time for us to open our eyes, open our hearts and minds to bring us to a brighter, cleaner and more beautiful earth.
As a start, maybe these are some appropriate ways in order for us to restore the beauty of our earth:

  Save energy by :
  •   Installing compact fluorescent light bulbs
  •   Unplug appliances when you're not using them
  •   Wash clothes in cold water whenever possible
              Save water by :
  •  Taking shorter showers to reduce water use
  •  Install a low-flow showerhead
  •  Plant drought-tolerant native plants in your garden
              Less gas by :
  •  Using public transport
  •  Using unleaded petrol

To wrap this discussion up, we must unite as one, to save mother earth. Without togetherness, without unity, our world could not be safe. Do not take little things as granted because sometimes things that are no matter to us, that we see unimportant is the thing that is the most important thing. In the Nutshell, I again stood still on this unity matter to save our one and only beautiful creature of all, THE EARTH. So, open your heart and open your eyes for the sake of Earth and for the next generations.

Love Our Mother Earth

Do you know what is Earth Day ?
Well ,I bet  you don’t. Keep on reading and let me appease your curiosity. Earth Day is one of the biggest events in years. It is celebrated worldwide on 22nd April annually. So what can we do to celebrate Earth Day?
There are many little things we can do to play a small part in making our Mother Earth a better place.
Here are some small, easy, green choices we can make in our homes.
First of all, turn off the water while brushing your teeth.
Leaving the tap running during the two minutes of brushing can waste up to five gallons of water a day.
Secondly, if you’ll be away from your computer for more than 20 minutes, change it to ‘sleep’ mode.
Next, don’t throw away your plastic carrier bags, recycle them!
Collect aluminum cans and plastic bottles to redeem for cash to spend on a treat.
Last but not least , before going to bed , switch off all your devices to prevent electrical draw.
Believe me, if you can do them , anybody can do them.
Take a crack at some or all of these, and see how you feel. Perhaps they’ll become a habit.

Love,
Sarah Bariqa Abd Malek A1
